There’s no denying that when a Bride and dress meet, the result can be one of two things:
“Meh” or “Pure Love at First Sight”
There’s no inbetween. Any wife can vouch for the fact that you either love it…or hate it. When I meet with brides for consultations I often recommend visiting a local bridal boutique. No matter what your price range is, make a consultation, bring your Maid of Honor and even your mother (the 2 people who should be the most honest, loyal women at your side when it comes to planning your big day) and try on as many dresses as possible. Try on different silhouettes, necklines, and even designers. You won’t know what’s the dress for you if you don’t try, right? At these local boutiques, you’ll really get an idea of fit and quality as they always offer only the best in wedding dresses. Here’s a few we especially love…
:: I Do Bridal ::
:: Isadora’s ::
After your consultation (or two) you can determine what you LOVE and most importantly, what you dislike. To help with the budget side of your search, head to this awesome website I just stumbled upon…
:: PreOwnedWeddingDresses ::
Not that I want to detract business from the amazing boutiques like I Do Bridal, but let’s face it- there are lots of brides on a budget and we like helping everyone find resources that works for them, in both the style and budget aspects. You can search by Designer, size, price range, silhouette, neckline, etc and then narrow the search down to your state. I spent about 10 minutes browsing dresses and here are a few styles that caught my eye…
I adore Jenny Lee gowns. They are always so timeless and so lovely. And 70% of the weddings I’ve shot, the brides have had a Maggie Sottero dress! I wonder what it is about Maggie? : )
Happy Shopping! Now go find that dress that puts that special twinkle in your eye! -a.
