If I don’t say so myself: Yum. The light with Charlene & Nick was so scrumptious. I was so thankful that Sabra Hall had me on board to help with this wedding last week. C & N booked plenty of time for a nice healthy portrait session of just the two of them before the ceremony(something most bride and grooms don’t do) so we came away with loads of great shots of them. They were relaxed, had smiles on their faces the whole time and we had FUN! The shots above were taken with a special little lens called a tilt shift lens. The photographer is able to put only a fine amount of the subject in focus, creating this lovely ‘story book’ effect.
This lens does require a bit of patience when shooting with it as it takes extra seconds to compose, re-focus, compensate for exposure and capture! But my oh my, the results are lovely! This technique can also be done in Photoshop but hey; in camera is always better and taking the extra seconds to do this in camera saves hours of mind-numbing time in front of the computer. I’ll take that any day! ; )
Here’s an example of an image captured without the Tilt Shift (top) and then adding the effect in Photoshop (bottom)…
This lens is definitely on my ‘Must Buy’ list. More from this sweet wedding coming soon.
