• I used to have a Great Dane named Lucy and she was my world! Now I have floofy Golden Retriever, Toby. He is loyal yet needy dude. He loves to collect sticks on walks and hate to say it, but he’s a little bit of a dummy. Love him for it…

• I love dogs so much that I often say hi to them before I greet the human they are attached to.

• I love my beloved Peloton and Barre3. Sweat is essential for my soul. I have completed five triathlons that I’m really proud of. I’m also an Orca Running Ambassador and it helped me accomplish running bucket lists I didn’t know I was capable of including 8 half marathons and a full marathon.

• I am 100% ok with the fact that I'm obsessed with The Office. If you ask me what I want to watch, I'll shamelessly request reruns to oogle over John Krasinski.

• I have an unapologetic (yet professional) sailor mouth. Someone once told me that those who curse are more honest, genuine people. I support this.

• Have you ever been to La Push, WA? If you haven't, stop what you're doing and book a trip right now. It's where my heart lives and we go every January and stay at the same resort to start the newest year off right. Stormy oceans, board games, soggy hikes, a pot of soup simmering on the stove and whiskey? Yes, please!

DO WE NEED A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER AT OUR WEDDING?

All of my collections include an assistant (my gear sorting extraordinaire, film loading and water-fetching friend…) but not all collections include a second photographer. Furthermore, not all weddings require a second photographer. As I learn more about your wedding day, I’ll be able to professionally advise you on how necessary a second photographer is to cover your day. In most cases, I’m more than confident to cover a wedding on my own but there are scenarios where I’d strongly recommend having a second photographer with us.

WHAT ARE YOUR TRAVEL FEES?

Weddings that require an overnight stay or two in the Puget Sound, Western Washington, or Portland region is an additional flat travel fee of $600 where I can book my accommodations freely. Let’s talk about this because not every wedding and destination is equal. Custom travel packages will be built for weddings that include airfare, accommodations, a rental car, and a per diem travel fee to cover being away from home, the office and my dog. Because, that’s definitely a thing. ; )

WE DON’T WANT AN ALBUM. JUST THE FILES PLEASE.

I’m a little biased but I can’t stress enough how important your wedding and portrait photography is. Why diminish them to a thumb drive or hovering in the cloud? Albums are the ultimate final product that will give your images life. Please, let me change your mind. You won’t regret a finely crafted display of your cherished day that you can flip through with your family decades down the road when the thumb drive has inevitably failed or is no longer compatible with today’s ever changing computer hardware.

CAN WE HAVE THE UNEDITED IMAGES OR RAW FILES?

Umm, no way, José. This is non-negotiable. Even when my couples are experienced in all things Adobe, I insist that they keep that world in my lap and detach themselves from wanting to edit their images. Some photographers might offer a buy out for RAW files but that’s not the case with me. #sorrynotsorry

HOW MANY IMAGES CAN WE EXPECT FROM OUR WEDDING OR PORTRAIT SESSION?

For an engagement or portrait session, you can expect to see 75-150 images where you choose your favorite 30 images. I don’t generally like to constrain myself to specific numbers for weddings because no two weddings are equal. You can expect anywhere from 600-1600 images depending on how many hours of coverage are in your collection, the structure of your event and if there’s a second photographer covering the day along side of me.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS?

Hard question. The cheesiest thing I’ll say right off the bat is that weddings are so freakin’ incredible to witness. It’s an honor. I get to watch you take the plunge together?!? I get to watch your families and friends celebrate with you?!? I get to be there for all the laughs, all the tears, all the ridiculous dancing and antics?!? I mean, that’s a pretty rad job. But my favorite stage of the day is portrait time with the couple because that’s your time to be together, to celebrate your love for each other, to take deep breaths and take it all in and I just happen to be capturing your portraits.

CAN WE MEET IN PERSON BEFORE WE BOOK YOU?

I strongly recommend it! I’m sure you’ve read it somewhere here, but I believe that the connection between photographer and couple is insanely valuable to creating beautiful, honest imagery. Tell me everything you have dreamt up for your wedding day and let’s get that spark lit! If you have a dog, I require that you introduce them to me over video chat. No exceptions.
